DAY 241 - Is Jesus In or Out?

Please click this NEW LINK to pray for us(March 9, 2010 to June 16)!!!

Today’s Reading: Revelation 3

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.

There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.

2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.

3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a disciple. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online disciple to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

Please read Revelation 3 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method:Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3: 20

I asked someone recently, "Is Jesus in or out?" He looked at me and replied, "He told me already that He is out. I am in a mess and I just want to spend all my money and then kill myself!"

There are so many people in this world including Michelle who want to keep their lives even though in very difficult situation. There are also many people who want to kill themselves just because they are facing with something they can't deal with and think that they are 'losers'.

John wrote the book of Revelation to seven churches, revealing to them what is going to happen. There are two kinds of churches, showing us two kinds of Christians:
1. Five out of the seven churches needed to repent, for they were in sin.
2. Two out of the seven churches were going to face sufferings and needed to stand firm and be faithful.

Jesus told me today that the two kinds of churches both need Him to come in. Only Jesus can forgive our sins and only He can lead us through sufferings and still keep us on track with himself. There is no way out without Jesus!

If Jesus didn't not tell Ignatius that Michelle will gain new grounds of believing last Friday, if Jesus didn't tell Michelle that He is going to get hold of her, I think that we might have been in the same depressed mode and the one I mentioned.

I told this brother that I was thinking of a song I used to lead our people of Richmond Emmanuel Church to sing. He suddenly told me that lately Jesus reminded him of this song:

Behold, behold, I stand at the door and knock, knock. knock.
Behold, behold, I stand at the door and knock, knock, knock.
If anyone hear my voice, if anyone hear my voice and be open, open, open and
I will come in.

I know that some of you may be in the same state as that brother with Jesus outside your life. He should be your Savior and Lord of life but now He is outside. Then you need to kneel down and repent and ask Jesus to come in.

I know that some of you are facing with sufferings just like Michelle and our whole family. You need to be faithful, even to the point of death (2:10) and endure patiently, trusting that the Lord will keep us from the hour of trial.(3:10) Is there any other way than Jesus? Can you do it yourself? I don't think so! Only Jesus, no other!

What Michelle received today is from 3: 10, "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth." No matter what, sooner or later we all are going to be tested, sometimes even by "fire". Where can you get help from when the times come? This is the message of Revelation. Ask the Lord to open your eyes just like He opened John's eyes to see the new Jerusalem. What is so frightening is not "death" but "fear". If Jesus is in you and you walk with him daily, eat with him daily (through His Word) and are with him daily, then "death", or the challenge of "cancer" will not scare us for we are in His love and not in our fear!

Michelle is well today. It's just that she medically has to get up every one to two hours, making her very tired!
Please pray that she can have enough rest and sleep.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Please come in to lead me, to be my Lord and my King! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

  1. "Courage is fear that has said it's prayers"
This is a quote by Dorothy Bernard, from Max Lucado's latest book "Fearless" a tremendous help to me but more than anything, I love Jesus speaking to us in Revelations!
Love to you Silas & Michelle, Ignatious & Athanasia! Pat

  3. Thanks Pat! Nowadays people fear so many people and things but not God. And people worship so many people and things except God! The only thing we need to fear according to Old Testament time is God. If we know how to fear God and to be loved by God we have no fear!
