DAY 407 - Honor Your Pledge

Praise the Lord that we have completed 400 days/24 hours Prayer Campaign! Without this prayer shield I think I might not be able to face the storm of Michelle's leukemia. You really need to believe in this kind of power of prayers! You really need to join us!

This is how the Lord commanded me more than a year ago to teach as many people as I can to pray as never before and to experience the power of prayers! Have you experienced yet?

Please sign up for the 5th stage - 500 days

Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel: "This is what the Lord commands: When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. Numbers 30: 1-2

It was quite a shocking experience when I read this chapter today. Jesus reminded me that I have not made an offering that I pledged in 1987! Well, every few years Jesus reminded me that but I just said, "Well, that's a pledge long time ago, there is no need anymore, forget it." So, I have to make an offering in this few days to full a pledge 23 years ago!

This is how wonderful and powerful daily devotion is. You read this chapter, you may not find anything interested to read on and it does not have a 'click', but every time you open your Bible, you give Jesus a window to speak to you. The more you read the Bible in a personal way, the more intimate relationship you can build up with Jesus. But, to listen without obey is just like you have not listened at all, or worse!

    Dear Lord Jesus,

Thanks for reminding me again for this forgotten pledge. Help me to honor my pledge to you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
    1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
    2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
    3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

"In addition to what you vow and your freewill offerings, prepare these for the Lord at your appointed feasts: your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings and fellowship offerings." Numbers 29:39

More offerings and so complicated, why?

I always think of how they train special forces to make them 'listen and obey' soldiers so that they can face the most difficult situation. Yes, God challenges us with offerings, money, time, energy and everything because only He knows what kind of "spiritual warfare" we are facing. According to accurate statistics, only one third of pastors can finish well (I wrote two third two days and that was wrong!). How about other Christians and not pastors!

Our Network Leadership team of ACiC has a wonderful and powerful retreat in Seattle the past three days with our new coach Dr. Terry Walling. This is one of the many examples that we as a group of five "Band of Brothers" are willing to make an additional offering so that we can lead ACiC into a new paradigm under the coaching of Dr. Walling. Dr. Walling is one of the D. Min. professor of Fuller and two other seminaries and a professional coaching consultant. He is also Bishop Chuck Murphy's personal coach. We are honoured to have him to coach us for the past three days!

This is the time for you to make an addition offering to the Lord!

    Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to offer what I have to you selflessly. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
