The total number of Levites counted at the Lord's command by Moses and Aaron according to their clans, including every male a month old or more, was 22,000. Numbers 3: 39
So Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel counted all the Levites by their clans and families. All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to do the work of serving and carrying the Tent of Meeting numbered 8,580. Numbers 4: 48
What happened in this chapter was "Mission impossible and incredible". Why? 22,000 was the total number of Levites counted of all the male a month old or more. Their only job for the next 38 years was to be serving and carrying the Tent of Meeting. At that time they only used men from thirty to fifty years of age, and there were 8,580. Can you imagine what the picture or movie of this look like? Imagine 8,580 men from thirty to fifty years of age breaking a puzzle and then putting it back. Each one carrying a piece of puzzle with 8,580 men strong enough to carry everything they were supposed to carry.
If you have a chance to see this picture in real life, what would you think and feel? What words would you use to describe this?
For me, it is "impossible, incredible, unity, powerful, total obedience, perfect team work". Do you have more words to describe?
Only in God can we experience "mission impossible and incredible"!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Open my eyes that I can see all those great works of yours which I amnot able to see with my human eyes. Lead me into your team to serve you so that I can also have a chance to participate in this Mission Impossible and Incredible. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Tonight Michelle joined our Adult Couples 2 again and shared what she experienced in the past five months. It was such a moving, powerful and loving time for all of us!
