For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand? Revelation 6: 17

When I was in high school I used to read quite a number of books about the book of Revelation; I was confused to see so many different explanation and guessing as what is the white horse, the red horse, the black horse, the grey horse and various explanations to other mystical things. Today, this chapter is so simple to me. No matter what humans do, kings will still change, nations will fall and disasters may come in the split of a second. When that time comes, who can stand?

I asked Michelle what she felt last Friday and Saturday when it happened so fast. Could she stand? She said, "Before I thought of whether I can even stand, Jesus held me firmly already. In less than 20 hours after I heard from the doctor that it would be leukemia, I was in the hospital and into the love of so many brothers and sisters!" Well said my dearest wife! Well said!

I don't think there is anyone that can stand before a big trial, disaster, crisis! Revelation 6:17 is talking about the Judgement Day, the end of the world! Without Jesus and those Jesus sends to minister to us during those difficult times, we can never stand! Today especially Michelle and I think of so many of you who have been praying and fasting for us daily. We think of those who cooked wonderful 'Chinese one soup and two dishes dinner' for us daily. Your love makes us strong! I am thinking of sharing one of my favorite song "You raise me up" with all of you, thanking all those brothers and sisters who have supported, cared and raised me. I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for preparing so many of His servants to raise the two of us up! Thank you Lord!

Michelle is in her best condition these past ten days in the hospital. She is without any chemo and just resting, sleeping, eating, daily devotion, praying and watching the last bit of Michael, Sam and Ricky Hui's The Private Eyes. The doctor came in early in the morning and told us that everything is as they expected. They are going to make a decision in three days time as to the next step for her. Thanks for all your prayers that she does not have any nausea or vomiting. That is already a big blessing!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to realize that we are not able to stand when the day comes! Hold me Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

> Well, the doctors sent John home today. His lungs are sounding
> much better and the feeding tube is working fine so they felt he
> would recover better at home. However, he is very weak and the
> Parkinsons meds are still a problem. They have been increased
> but he can only take them every 3 hours and they are only
> lasting for 2 hours. That means he has one hour out of every
> three that he feels awful and cannot open his eyes much or
> breath easily or walk etc.
> The Parkinsons specialist is unhappy with the high cal, high
> protein feed the dietician has prescribed for him I am not sure
> what to give him at this point!!
> Please pray for strength and continued healing for John and
> wisdom for the neurologist, our GP, and for me as we try to get
> these items worked out. PTL the pneumonia has mostly cleared -
> pray the it will not return now that he is off the IV antibiotics.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a disciple. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online disciple to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

  1. A number of us agreed to pray and fast for Michelle today (April 20, 2010). Following my morning devotions (thank you Bp Silas for your encouragement!), I was riding my bike along the bike pathway along the Bow River on my way to work, when I came to a place where the air smelled particularly refreshing. I was asking The Lord to heal and bless Michelle, and a still small voice answered "I am blessing her". I was overwhelmed with praise and thanks to The Lord for what He is doing every day, including pronouncing this special blessing on Michelle. Lord, You are indeed worthy to be praised!

[I chose to wait to share this with Bp Silas in person on May 22 in North Van, and he encouraged me to post this as an encouragement and testimony that The Lord does answer prayer: Indeed He has told us "I am The Lord who heals you ...." Praise you Jesus!]
