DAY 451 - Where Are Your Stones?

Praise the Lord that we have completed 400 days/24 hours Prayer Campaign! Without this prayer shield I think I might not be able to face the storm of Michelle's leukemia. You really need to believe in this kind of power of prayers! You really need to join us! This is how the Lord commanded me more than a year ago to teach as many people as I can to pray as never before and to experience the power of prayers! Have you experienced yet?

Please sign up for the 5th stage - 500 days

Today's Reading: Joshua 4
Please read Joshua 4 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method: Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

Please click the links below to Joshua 4:
"Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the bumber of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever." Joshua 4: 6-7

Jesus wants to say something important to you today in a very special way. And I really think He means it, for the sign is so clear. Let me explain.

I used this chapter as my devotion early Friday morning in Hong Kong (Vancouver time Thursday 5p.m.) and got the theme "Where are your stones?" What I received from Jesus is this: "what are those 'stones' that we have to remind us of how we experience God?" And that is a call to write a "spiritual journal". One of Satan's major plans is to erase our "experiencing God" memories. There are several dark hours of my life when I became depressed and didn't know what to do or where to go, and the Lord reminded me that I had those "stones". So I went to get several of my past spiritual journals, and then those darkness was gone and I was free!

I did not have time to write the blog and planned to write it when I was in Hong Kong airport. There was something wrong in my computer so that I could not get online so I could not write it until I came home.

When I came home and Ignatius was so good to fix my computer and I was about to write. Then I saw the spiritual journal of Michelle and Athanasius were on the table a few inches from my computer. That is such a great sign! So I pulled out my spiritual journal, and put it next to their and took two photos.

My point is, this is a wonderful, intimate, direct and powerful sign from our Lord Jesus Christ to ask you to write your spiritual journal. If you have not started, start today. If you do not have a spiritual journal and you are in Vancouver, come to Richmond Emmanuel Church and you can find hundreds of our wonderful designed spiritual journals in two big boxed under the glass table by the entrance of our sanctuary. Get one or two; It's always free! If you are not in Vancouver, then go and buy a small note book and start writing.

Actually I stopped writing my spiritual journal regularly since I started writing this daily blog last July. Today, Jesus commanded me to start writing again, even I am having my blog. Yes, my blog are part of my "stones" but Jesus told me today that my blog is not the same as my spiritual journal. Wow! Yes Sir!

Please know that this is a "Jesus' Invitation" to you personally today, for He wants you to have your "stones" to remember His mighty acts in your life. Do it before it is too late!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Keep me writing my spiritual journal as often as I should be. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.

There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
  1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
  2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters) to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
  3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!
