When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it." He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven." Genesis 28:16
Our awareness of the presence of God and our willingness to tithe has a direct relationship to each other according to what Jacob experienced. There are quite a number of passages in the Bible stating very clearly that we need to tithe - to give a tenth of everything we have. What Jesus told me today through this chapter is very important: We will tithe and offer more than ,once we are aware of God's presence and have a personal relationship with God, no other way.
I challenged a brother a year ago why he did not tithe. His reasons are many, such as he has too many things to take care of and not enough money to pay for all those things so he is not able to tithe. Since then, I have been praying for him so that he can tithe, for I know that the real reason should be his relationship with God. Yes, once we are aware of the presence of God in our lives and we enter into this presence daily, then we will tithe and offer more than tithe. God does not need our money. What He does not want is when we claim that He is Lord but in fact "MONEY" is our real Lord!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your daily presence. Help me to help more people to understand the significance of tithing and to offer to you more than we can offer, for you are our provider, our Savior and our Lord of life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Michelle is good today. She is starting to do more housework now to enjoy her day at home everyday. She spends more time in having daily devotion to cherish an intimate time with the Lord than she has before. That is so wonderful!
