Today's Reading: Leviticus 10
Please read Leviticus 10 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method:Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. Leviticus 10: 1-2
Aaron two elder sons died just like that; how can that be? Just one verse after the glory appearance of God at the end of the eight days of ordination process. Just as Nadab, Abihu and their two brothers with their father ordained and they died. How? "Fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord." Leviticus 10: 2
Why? If you were Aaron and your two elder sons died like that, would you react like Aaron?
"Aaron remained silent." Leviticus 10: 3
"Aaron replied to Moses, "Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?" Leviticus 10: 19
The only reason for Aaron's silence is because he knew that his two sons died of "disobedience -they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord contrary to his command." Why did the other Israelites do what the Lord told and these two young men didn't? Because they thought that were the high priest Aaron's two elder sons and they did not follow because of their pride. Pride is the first one of the seven deadly sins and we can see here that pride really kills!
The Lord has been using all kinds of methods to teach Christian leaders the price of pride. I suffered a lot since I was a young man being full of pride many, many years ago. What I have experienced is that only the Holy Spirit can reveal our pride and lead us into repentance. I do hope that it won't be too late for you to know that you too have this same problem - PRIDE!
Dear Holy Spirit,
Shine on me that I can see my pride and ready to repent, change and to be transformed by you to be more Christlike. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Michelle is so joyful everyday that she can go out to eat and walk around! We are going to Seattle and Portland with our two sons for a five days holiday to enjoy this freedom. Michelle said today, "After this life and death experience I can satisfy with anything." Thank you for your prayers for the past 4 1/2 months that she receives a miraculous healing. Please pray on because she needs another seven years to be qualified as completely healed.
My son, Ignatius, completed his three weeks mission in Ethiopia a few days ago.We are so joyful to welcome him home and know that he experienced God mightily in that three weeks.
