Please click the links below to 1 Samuel 2 :
I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. i will firmly establish his house, and he will minister before my anointed one always. 1 Samuel 2: 35

How sad it is that we as human being always forget how God blessed us and insist on our own way. "Those who honor me I will honor" is the words God used through the 1982 movie "Chariots of Fire" to call me to become a priest.

Here in this chapter we see how sad it was that the priest Eli and his two sons displeased God. The scene of how Eric Leddell spoke in his heart when he was running the 400 meters winning the Gold medal for England in the 1924 Olympic Games, "When I run, I feel the pleasure of God!" As I was struggling severely with my ego and did not want to let go of a good career in the Hong Kong Government I watched the movie five times in a few weeks time. Each time God used the same two scenes to speak to me. The first one being the American sprinter gave a small note to Eric before he ran the 400 meters final. The note says, "As the Bible says, those who honor me I will honor." And then when Eric ran, the theme song with Eric's whispering sound, "When I run, I feel God's pleasure!"

I never turn back since then and God keeps His promise to me. When I run for Him the past 28 years I feel His pleasure. And when I honor Him He honors me in a very special way! Thank you Lord Jesus!

It is so difficult to be a faithful disciple or priest doing according to what is in God's heart and mind. But when you do that you will know how God firmly establish your house so that you can minister before our Lord Jesus Christ to to be anointed to minister to His people.

You need to take action today and not tomorrow, my dear friend!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for reminding me of so many sweet memories of the fruits and power for do according to your heart and mind. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.

There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
  1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
  2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters) to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
  3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

  1. Wow, B Silas, this is wonderful! When I honour God, He will honour me! When I walk w Him, I feel the pleasure of His presence! The word "strength" appears at least 6 times in this chapter. He is the only one who can give me strength!
    Love, Lucy.

  2. You are right on Lucy! Praise the Lord for your faithfulness to the Lord!
