The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2: 7
Have you seen the last breath of a human being? If you have, then you know what a shocking moment it is to be with breath and without breath! God formed us and breathed into our nostrils the breath of life so that we become a living being.
How harmonious and relational it was, as described in Genesis 2! It was all so good! Beautiful and living scenes everywhere and Adam living in harmony with all living creatures. The only thing God saw as no good is loneliness and God created a helper, companion, wife for Adam.
I see each breath that Adam and Eve took was a holy breath, enjoying the wonder of creation and the harmony of living together to make a better world.
Jesus drew me to the lyrics of "Breathe" and opened my eye to see how wonderful a picture it was:
This is the air I breathe.
Your holy presence living in me.
This is my daily bread.
Your very word spoken to me.
And I ... I'm desperate for you.
And I ... I'm lost without you.
What do we breathe daily? Business, worries, bitterness, anger, insecurity, money, clothes, car, house ... all kinds of desire but we can never be satisfied, for we are not created for those purposes.
What are we so desperately living daily for? Who is the one we can't live without? Do you know that the answer is Jesus? Is that only a 'model' answer or a deep yearning from your heart?
I have bad news and good news about Michelle today. The bad news is that she lost quite some blood and needed to have two bags of blood transfusion. When I heard Iggy told me that I rushed to the hospital to see what was happening. The doctor said it was not a big deal and should be normal. The good news is that the Director of the unit, Dr. Smith, came to see her again and told her that she made a 'record'. He said that usually the first few weeks are the worst weeks for all leukemia patients. Michelle's case is the best he has never seen until now; so she is a record holder now. How wonderful! I really think that this is the power of all your prayers, and nothing else can do that! Thank you and please pray on!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Please breathe daily on Michelle with your holy breath, especially when she is having her daily devotion. Speak your very word to her and help her to enjoy your holy presence. We are desperate for you and we are lost without you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
