Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15: 6

Today I had a wonderful experience of receiving message of Genesis 15 in a modern way.

Two hours before I set down to write my blog, Ignatius called out loud upstair, "Dad, can I use your credit card to buy books for my group members?" ( Iggy has been "on fire" after he read a book called "Crazy Love" about how to give all you can give to love people in , so that they can respond to the love of Jesus.) So, I gave him my credit card and I trust him every time he uses my credit card. No question at all; use what you need.

Two hours later when I was finalizing what I received from Jesus in this chapter Jesus gave me this title - God gave a credit card to Abram. Wow, this is cool!

Indeed, Abram had a brand new trustworthy relationship with God. God promised him to be his shield and he would be his very great reward(v. 1), he was going to have a son of his own (v.4), to take possession of the land that he was in (v.6) , the big sign of a miracle (v. 8- 18) and another covenant (contract)!

We as human beings are always so worried of money issues and all kinds of things that may not be in our control. So how does that sound that God is going to give you a 'credit card' and that He trusts you on that to use it in a "righteous"(v.6) way? How do you feel now? Do you know that you already have that card if Jesus Christ is your Savior and Lord of life? You are secure. Don't let insecurity take away your peace!

Do not be afraid, my son, my daughter,

I am your shield,

your very great reward. Genesis 15: 1

Wow, thank you Lord! Thank you for your assurance!

Michelle's bone marrow report didn't come out today, so we have to wait for tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers! The doctor said there might be a chance that Michelle can go to Iggy's graduation on 26 May. Please pray on for this to happen!

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

  1. Johnson and I walked up to the Peak this morning. As we were walking uphill, I heard the rustling of the leaves and it reminded me of John 3:8 - "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." As I was meditating on it and enjoying the presence of the Holy Spirit, suddently the sky turned black and there was a gust of wind, then I recall how such a scene is often portrayed in movies as of something frightening upcoming and people all try to run away from it. But then, in such a moment, God enlightens me with His presence - it is exactly when we are going through wind and waves and all sorts of turmoils in our life that we can experience God's very presence, the work of His Holy Spirit and allows us to fully and truly enjoy the peace that He has promised. God is faithful and will keep to His covenant. He will bless us and keep us.
Silas and Michelle, God is faithful and will be with you through this difficult, yet special and blessed time that your family is undergoing.
We will keep on praying for you. Emmanuel!

  2. Yes we know and have been experiencing greatly the presence of God daily! Never have we had so much delicious soups to drink, food to eat, cards to encourage and love to comfort from so many brothers and sisters. Lots of time we lose our relationship in our good times but pick it up again in our bad times. We really need to establish that intimate daily relationship with God that we can feel His presence in any circumstances.
    Thanks Alice & Johnson!
