This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man(Adam)". When Adam had lived 130 years he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived 930 years and then he died. Genesis 5: 1-5
Jesus inspired me with new light when I was reading Genesis 5! Please find below what I have received:
1. Adam's line, family tree does not start with Adam but starts with God and Adam's is God's first generation. The format is the same to all 10 generations from God, Adam, Seth...to Noah.
2. Cain lost his position in this line and God had Adam started a new line. How sad it is!
3. The new line starts with the same DNA as God created Adam: "When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image." We really need to reclaim this Christ-likeness back to ourselves and our sons and daughters and our family tree.
4. We should be a role model to our sons and daughters as Seth and his son Enosh were good models to change the whole downfall situation back: "Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the Lord." Genesis 4: 26
One step at a time, how are you going to digest the importance of being a father and mother to lead your sons and daughters to lead a life of Christ-likeness. "Like father like son" - how well are you living out an example to lead your sons and daughters to have your own likeness, in you own image.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for today's inspiration of the importance of being a Godly father. Help me to be a father with your likeness and your image. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
