"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awak and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed." Revelation 16: 15
When Michelle went to the hospital, I didn't know when she could be back home. I always asked myself whether I was ready anytime if she was allowed to go home. It might be a few weeks or even a few months. So, I got a company to clean the whole house two times last week. I bought new towels, pillow...and quite a number of things two days ago. I washed and prepared those new things and put them into the bathroom and bedroom. I washed the whole house with bleach yesterday morning. Then I got a call from Michelle at noon that she could go home!
The past 16 days when I was reading the book of Revelation, I received a clear and simple message I never had before: "God's time will come soon, you never know or understand when or why but are you ready?" Today's passage is the same message: the big war "Armageddon" is coming; are you staying awake and ready?
Two days ago Michelle asked me to ask all of you to pray for her that she could attend Ignatius' UBC Graduation Ceremony on 26 May, 2010. After that she said, "Actually I would like to ask the Lord that I can have dinner with Athanasius this Sunday on his 14th birthday but I know that would be impossible and too greedy to ask." So, I didn't put that into my blog yesterday and just asked all of you for the May 26. Wow! God is good, all the time! Michelle can have dinner at home with Athan on this 14th birthday this Sunday night!
Four days ago I asked those who read my blog to come for a prayer run or pray walk. Dickson asked me where and I said I was still thinking. Three days ago I told him it would be around my neighbours this time and we would gather in front of my house and would have a 20 minutes prayer run(for those who can't run would have a pray walk on another route). And now, the prayer run/walk will be more meaningful. Most brothers and sisters have not seen Michelle for three weeks and you will have a chance to see her this Saturday. We are going to start the prayer run/walk in front of my house and sing "Joyful, Joyful we adore Thee", read a passage from the Bible and then"Emmanuel". Michelle is so desperate to worship with all of you and we are going to worship our Lord Jesus Christ and praise Him at that time, though Michelle can not come back to the church for at least a few more weeks or months. Will you be there? We are going to have our regular weekly prayer meeting at 9a.m. in our church and then we'll start the prayer run/walk at10:30a.m. in front of my house.
Michelle will go to the Cancer Clinic near VGH daily or once every two days for a few months of chemo and other treatments. Please pray that she can be completely recovered soon!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for what you have done to prepare us in the midst of this crisis, for reminding us that we need to be prepared, especially for your coming, and for giving us a chance to experience the love of so many brothers and sisters. Help us to be prepared and be faithful to you always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
