Today’s Reading: Revelation 16

Please read Revelation 16 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method:Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awak and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed." Revelation 16: 15

When Michelle went to the hospital, I didn't know when she could be back home. I always asked myself whether I was ready anytime if she was allowed to go home. It might be a few weeks or even a few months. So, I got a company to clean the whole house two times last week. I bought new towels, pillow...and quite a number of things two days ago. I washed and prepared those new things and put them into the bathroom and bedroom. I washed the whole house with bleach yesterday morning. Then I got a call from Michelle at noon that she could go home!

The past 16 days when I was reading the book of Revelation, I received a clear and simple message I never had before: "God's time will come soon, you never know or understand when or why but are you ready?" Today's passage is the same message: the big war "Armageddon" is coming; are you staying awake and ready?

Two days ago Michelle asked me to ask all of you to pray for her that she could attend Ignatius' UBC Graduation Ceremony on 26 May, 2010. After that she said, "Actually I would like to ask the Lord that I can have dinner with Athanasius this Sunday on his 14th birthday but I know that would be impossible and too greedy to ask." So, I didn't put that into my blog yesterday and just asked all of you for the May 26. Wow! God is good, all the time! Michelle can have dinner at home with Athan on this 14th birthday this Sunday night!

Four days ago I asked those who read my blog to come for a prayer run or pray walk. Dickson asked me where and I said I was still thinking. Three days ago I told him it would be around my neighbours this time and we would gather in front of my house and would have a 20 minutes prayer run(for those who can't run would have a pray walk on another route). And now, the prayer run/walk will be more meaningful. Most brothers and sisters have not seen Michelle for three weeks and you will have a chance to see her this Saturday. We are going to start the prayer run/walk in front of my house and sing "Joyful, Joyful we adore Thee", read a passage from the Bible and then"Emmanuel". Michelle is so desperate to worship with all of you and we are going to worship our Lord Jesus Christ and praise Him at that time, though Michelle can not come back to the church for at least a few more weeks or months. Will you be there? We are going to have our regular weekly prayer meeting at 9a.m. in our church and then we'll start the prayer run/walk at10:30a.m. in front of my house.

Michelle will go to the Cancer Clinic near VGH daily or once every two days for a few months of chemo and other treatments. Please pray that she can be completely recovered soon!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for what you have done to prepare us in the midst of this crisis, for reminding us that we need to be prepared, especially for your coming, and for giving us a chance to experience the love of so many brothers and sisters. Help us to be prepared and be faithful to you always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a disciple. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online disciple to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

Record for our 1st phase of 100 days of prayers(1st part 40 days):

  1. This is good news indeed! Praise the Lord! Hope and pray that Michelle's condition will continue to improve!!

  2. Praise be, indeed that Michelle is going home. As regards her her ongoing treatments at the Cancer Clinic, I to am awaiting a call to commence a series of Radiation treatments, 5 days a week for seven weeks, and so it may be that our paths will cross even though the Cancer Clinic is a very large and busy facility. If so I will consider it a great blessing that we may be able to share our mutual journey's in some small and special way.

  3. joyful joyful we adore thee..............
so simple a pray request, so great the power, so much we missed in our busy life......
    this is quite moving.

  4. Hi Ron, We'll be in the Cancer Agency tomorrow(Sat.)8:30a.m., Mon., Wed. and Fri. 1p.m. Will you be there at those time?

  5. Hygiene is paramount as during chemotherapy as one's immunity is lowered, increasing the chance of opportunistic infections which can be serious or even fatal.

Strict hand washing regime and changing one's clothes after meeting with your congregation or group should be considered seriously so as to minimize the chance of exposing Michelle to unnecessary virulent microorganisms.
