Even my close friend, whom I trusted,
he who shared my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.
Psalm 41: 9

What I received from Jesus today is: How to deal with insecurity?

It might be a reality that many people are so insecure in this world. Insecure about relationships, they don't know when will their friends or even family members lift up their heels agains them just as what David says today. They don't know whether they are going to have their jobs next month or even next week. They don't know whether they will still be healthy or they will be sick in bed or even die.

What if the "they" are "we"? Are you feeling insecure lately? I was talking on the phone with a lady from our church that she cannot sleep much even having sleeping pills lately. She has been worrying her health for quite a long time. When someone feels insecure then everything change. Joy changes to sadness, light becomes darkness, secure becomes insecure...

Yes, you can see that David was in deep mud, even his close friend hurt him. But, he finished the psalm with a positive and secure spirit. He was sure that the Lord was pleased with him and his enemy would not triumph over him. He was in the presence of the Lord helping him to go through all those kind of attacks. And, at the end of the psalm he could praise the Lord. Do you think you can react to your sufferings and attacks like that?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to be close to you each day that I am able to face with every possible kind of sufferings and attacks with a positive attitude and thatI feel secure because you are with me. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
