The easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week. What you need to do is very simple. Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week to pray for me, my family and my ministry, remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. This campaign is also to teach you that you need somebody to pray for you daily. I have been prayed for hourly the past 1,100 days and I have never experienced this kind of peace and protection before. It's just beyond words can express. If I did not listen and obey to Jesus call 1,100 days ago to start this prayer movement, I think I would be pulled into darkness and discouragement already! I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Today's Reading: Daniel 9

Bible Study

This chapter records a classical intercessory prayer just as Jesus' intercessory prayer for His disciples in John 7. Daniel confesses the sin of his fellow Jews and intensely pleads with God for Jerusalem and the entire nation to be restored.

In the numerous intercessory prayers in the Bible, many of God's faithful people pleaded with him to rescind or withhold his judgment (Ge 18:23-32; Nu 14:13-19; Joel 2:17), to restore his people (Ne 1; Da 9), to rescue individuals from danger (Ac 12:5,12; Ro 15:31) and to bless his people (Nu 6:24-26; 1 Ki 18:41-45; Ps 122:6-8). Intercessors also prayed for the Holy Spirit's power to come (Ac 8:15-17; Eph 3: 14-17) for people to be healed (1Ki 17:20-21; Ac 28:8; Jas 5:14-16), for the forgiveness of sins (Ezr 9:5-15; Da 9; Ac 7:60), for people in authority to lead well (1Ch 29:19; 1Ti 2:1-2), for spiritual growth (Php 1:9-11; Col 1:10-11), for effective pastors (2Ti 1:3-7), for effective mission work (Mt 9:38; Eph 6:19-20), for the spiritual salvation of others (Ro 10:1) and for people to praise God (Ps 67:3-5). All these intercessory prayers are just some examples from the Bible to teach and encourage us to kwon the power of fasting and praying and to really be willing to fast and pray. Anything that the Holy Spirit or the Bible reveals as God's will - his desires, plans and purposes - is an appropriate focus for intercessory prayer. Our unfailing principle that God always honors is the power of persistent, persevering prayer and faith.

This chapter is full of important prophesies that we can hardly understand. But the most important message of this chapter to us is that we need to follow Daniel, Jesus and all the other faithful servants of Christ to fast and prayer!

Jeremiah had prophesied that restoration for Jerusalem would begin in 70 years (Jer 25:11-12; 29:10-14). The 70 years were just about up, and still there was no indication of the promise that Jews would return to their homeland. That is why Daniel was so desperate in his prayers.

Daniel's prophecy here concerning Israel and the holy city is crucial for the last days of this present age. The word translated "sevens" here means a unit of seven years; so "seventy sevens" is a period of 490 years. Within that 490 years, an atonement for wickedness will be made referring to the "sin-covering" death of Jesus, who paid the price for our sin with his own life. There will be "an end to sin." Israel will one day return to God, accept jesus as the Messiah and liveby God's standards. A rule of "everlasting righteousness" will be established and Jesus Christ will be anointed as King for eternity.

God also revealed to Daniel that 69 periods of sevens (483 years) would occur between the time of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the coming of the Messiah, the "Anointed One" - Jesus Christ. the first "seven 'seven'" may refer to the period of complete restoration of Jerusalem as in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. After the "seven 'sevens'"(v.25) and after "the sixty-two 'sevens,'" - a total of 69 "sevens" (483 years) - two things would happen:
1. The Messiah would be "cut off," referring to Jesus' death on the cross.
2. The "people of the ruler who will come" would destroy Jerusalem and the temple. The "people" are the Roman army, which destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70; the "ruler refers to the end-tiem antichrist.

The making of a covenant between "the ruler who will come" and Israel will signal the beginning of the 70t "seven" - the final seven years of this age.

What have all these to do with us? This is to tell us that the future we are heading is not what we as human beings can bear and take. Anything can happen tomorrow without your knowing or planning. What we need to do is to follow all those good examples of Jesus and God's faithful prophets and servants to fast and pray, nothing more, nothing less!

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: Fasting and praying is the key!

What I received from Jesus today is a plead and invitation for us to exercise in a real sense fasting and praying and to experience the power of fasting and praying. We know that, talk about that but not many Christians really be willing to fast and pray! That's so sad!

I have told brothers and sisters many, many times in Richmond Emmanuel Chruch that the Lord revealed to me about ten years ago that when REC has more than 100 people coming to our weekly prayer meeting something "wonderful" will happen. Only a few believed and now we still have only about 25 every Saturday at 9a.m. People say why they need to come because they have all kinds of prayers. Well, it is just what I receive from our Lord Jesus Christ ten years ago and I just faithfully said it out. There was just one time that we had more than 100 people and that was during our Gospel Camp and we had 127 brothers and sisters woke up in the morning and prayed at 7a.m. We witnessed a brother who could not walked for two years and was sitting in a wheel chair could walk that day. He even invited his family members to sit in his wheel chair and he pushed the wheel chair. Just one time! So, if you are members of Richmond Emmanuel Church of if you can come to REC on Saturday at 9a.m., come. I do think that the number "100" is not a secret number but it's a call from our Lord for us to gather and to pray. To exercise the power of prayers and to experience the power of prayers.

Do you remember I shared about our "nearly" fatal car accident in Italy two weeks ago? My sister Ada told me that my mom got a message from the Lord to fervently prayed for all four of us for hours one day because she sensed that we were in danger. It could be that time when we were nearly killed, all four of us, and my mom prayed for us for a few hours!

My mom fasted one day a week and prayed for me, my sister Ada and brother Dennis since 1982(30 years!) when she knew that I responded to a call from the Lord to leave my job to prepare myself to be an Anglican priest. One of the fruit of her fasting and prayers is that all three of us graduated from seminaries, my brother and I were ordained as Anglican priests(Dennis is now the overseer of a series of churches and Christian organization he established quite some years ago) and my sister has been a high school principal but also an Evangelist planted a new church in her school 17 years ago!

So, have you got enough confirmation to start your fasting and praying and try all you best to come to Richmond Emmanuel Church every Saturday at 9a.m. so that we can pray and to experience in unity the power of fasting and praying?

The end time is come or already here. This is not the time for talking, talking and talking but a time for us to really do those things Jesus call us to do. The most important thing for us to do is to fast and pray!

And, one request, could you pray for my mom daily and my family including my sister Ada, and my brother Dennis' family. You can see their faces here in today's blog. My mom is going to have her 85th birthday Oct. 17 and I will be there with her that day in HK.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Tell us that it is your call today for us to really practice fasting and praying and be willing to fast and pray. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
