DAY 16 - License To Kill or To Heal

Today’s Reading: John 16

(Please read John 16: 1 – 33 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog.)

“A time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.”
John 16: 2

Since Early Church millions and millions of Christians have been killed. Lots of time were by those who thought they were working for God. I have seen not only physical killing as in church history of those martyrs but spiritual killing. Often we call it killed by friendly fires! In misunderstanding, gossiping, dissensions, anger, hatred, discord and selfish ambition we kill and not heal!

How do we know we are not one of those who kill? Jesus says it is the Holy Spirit. When Holy Spirit comes he will:
1. Convict : Our sin as not believing and letting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
2. Guide, tell, bring glory to Jesus and that we will see.

Jesus asked me this morning to count how many “will see” in John 16. Just like how he asked me to count how many “see” in John 1(Please refer to my Day 1). That's 16 days ago and I found seven different Greek words describing “see”. Today I found out there are 7 “will see”. And John is using the no. 7 “see” again which I stated in Day 1:

7. Optano(You will see greater things than these, John 1: 50, 51) – To allow one’s self to be seen. Matthew 5: 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Jesus told me this morning that when we allow the Holy Spirit to do His job as in point 1 and 2 above then “we will see”! When we can see our sins through the work and help of the Holy Spirit, we will repent and ask for the blood of Jesus to forgive and cleanse. Jesus will come in our life to take the Lordship again. The Holy Spirit will be not only with us but in us and then we “can see”!

This afternoon when I was flying back from South Carolina to Vancouver after my first House of Bishops meeting, a wonderful thing happened. As the plane just took off, I wanted to push the button on top of me to have the light to read John 16 again before I write this devotion. Just as I was about to press on the button the gentleman sitting beside me suddenly said, “You do not need this light because you have the Light.” He then pointed to the Bible I was reading. I was shock and looked at him and I said, “Are you a Christian?” He said yes and then we talked for the whole 5 ½ hours. We shared and prayed . Pray on the plane! That was my second time and his first time.

When we have Jesus inside, we have the Light and we will receive a license to heal and not to kill. We can see and would not be troubled by worries but will have peace even in crisis or distress. Everybody should have a license, what kind of license do you have, to kill or to heal?

Dear Holy Spirit,
Come! Shine on me that I can see my sins and repent. Holy Spirit, come! Guide me into all truth that I can see. Tell me of all those things that I am not able to know but you want me to know. Bring glory to Jesus through my life that I and other people will see Jesus. Open my eyes to see you Lord! Open my eyes to see you! I want to see you! In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

I want to comment about atonement, which the quote is about.

(le-havdil) The same that is outlined in Tan’’kh about kipur – atonement – was taught by first century Ribi Yehoshua (the Messiah) from Nazareth. Ribi Yehoshua taught in accordance with the teachings in Torah about the only way to get atonement and how to enable a connection with ha-Sheim. Read more here: www.netzarim.co.il
