What I heard from Jesus today is: Can you just listen and be there?

We never know why Job could grumble like that to God. It seems that he had lost his faith and just wanted to die and asked God to let him die. Not so! If you been through some kind of deep suffering then you'll understand how painful it can become. What you need is someone who can just listen to you and be there. But, most of the time we as human beings do not know how to listen well or are not willing to listen for those kind of grumbling.

May be this is a good time to learn some listening skills here. Your friends just want you to understand their feelings and it is not good for us to analyze or to judge. Let they say what they want to say, listen and try to understand how much they have been through.

I still remember many years ago a good friend of me lost his first baby son. Both of my friend and his wife were in England. I called him to try to comfort him. What I did was to weep with him, listen and then both not speak for almost an hour. That was the moment we felt our friendship was the closest.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being with us everyday. Help us to learn from you that we can learn how to listen and the importance of being there so that we can help our friends to go through some deep sorrowful moments.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
