Please click the links below to Job 33:
"He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light. God does all these things to a man - twice, even three times - to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him." Job 33: 28-30
What I received from Jesus today is: Better but not enough!
What Elihu said seems to be a little bit better than Job's other three friends. At least he had some truth in what he said. His idea is that people do not really get what their sin deserves, and God's punishment and discipline are usually aimed at keeping our souls from being destroyed by sin. But still, Elihu is not accurate in applying this truth to Job's situation because Job's suffering was not the result of his sin.
Do we have to take the place of God judging other people thinking that that we do that for God?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to use our wisdom and experience to judge other people thinking that we do that for you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
