"My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."
Job 42: 5

What I received from Jesus today is: Have heard God or experiencing God?

I am full of tears coming to the end of the Book of Job reading this last chapter. Job's famous words of "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you" always gives me a lot of inspiration. I always ask myself: did Job have a personal intimate relationship with God before he said this? I am the third generation of a Christian family. I was baptized when I was a baby, heard of God and learned everything in the Bible since I was a kid. But my born again experience was when I was 26 and I was baptized in the Holy Spirit when I was 43.

Without experiencing God daily, I don't think we can face everyday's challenges. Our two sons Ignatius and Athanasius came home just half an hour ago after a seven days youth camp somewhere in Vancouver Island. Iggy is now playing his guitar praising God by singing "Lord Reign in Me". Our family is so blessed in many ways and one of the way is Iggy always praising the Lord with his guitar everyday. And we are all uplifted by his singing and have a better opportunity to experience God in a special way.

Job came close to foolish pride and to the belief that God was in some way not perfectly good. But after God had revealed himself and spoken, Job's perspective completely changed. He repented and would continue to love and honor God, with or without his health, regardless of personal benefit. By committing himself to God in faith, hope and love while still suffering and not knowing why, Job proved Satan's accusation wrong(1: 9-11) and demonstrated God's power to restore people to a true and lasting relationship with himself.

I do pray and hope that you are in this kind of daily intimate personal relationship with God. It is not enough just to have heard about God without experiencing Him.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for giving us the Book of Job telling us the most important thing in our life is to enter into an intimate personal relationship with you experiencing your love and presence each day. Help us to stay in this loving relationship with you no matter what happen to our lives. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
