Please click the links below to Micah 2:
Micah pronounces doom and misery on those who were using their power and influence to take advantage of others in order to achieve their own selfish aims. These were wealthy landowners who either bought or stole farms and houses, they cheated and deceived others in order to gain more property. They were so consumed with greed that they did not care about the suffering they caused others.
Micah adds a word of hope by announcing that God would spare a remnant, a small portion of faithful people, from Israel and Judah, who would return to the promised land following their time in exile.
What has their situation to do with you? Do you have those full of greedy and self-centered people surrounding you? How can you get out of that kind of insecurity, bitterness and darkness? Have you ever happened to step into that similar kind of sins and not aware?
My Spiritual Journal
What I got from Jesus today is: Greed, cheat and deceive!
What I received from Jesus today is a warning to all of us not to fall into the similar sins of those people being greedy!
You'll never know if you are greedy. What I got from Jesus now is that you can check whether you are greedy with verse 1 of Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
If you really have Jesus as your Lord and Shepherd then you would become less and less greedy, less and less wanting to have all kinds of things and all kind of need because you are more and more satisfied. You will buy less and less belongings but will give more. You will not jealous for others success, plotting to take their positions and badmouthing other people.
If you are greedy then sooner or later cheating and deceiving would be your main lifestyle. And, you may have your own reasons telling yourself that you are not cheating and deceiving but just self-motivating towards your meaning of SUCCESS!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to become greedy that our lives are full of cheating and deceiving. Lead us to be willing to follow you as our Lord and Shepherd. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
