"Will your idle talk reduce men to silence? Will no one rebuke you when you mock?" Job 11: 3

Farewell, Uncle John! Rev. Dr. John Stott died yesterday(July 27) in London.

Job desperately needed the advice and comfort from his friends, but what he got was their rebuke. I do not know how many people John Stott advised but I think that could be thousands. If not for Uncle John's help to shift the focus of my life from self-centre to Christ-centre, I would be a different man now!

Please go to the two links below to know more:

2. How Uncle John gave me his advice how to be a good bishop two months before my consecration:

If you got a friend who need your advice in a critical moment of his life, what would you do to help him? Like what Zophar did? Or like John Stott did?

I made an appointment to see Uncle John on June 10 when I was in London that two weeks. I was saddened to learn from his secretary Ms Francis Whitehead that Uncle John was dying and I could not go. I asked Bishop Sandy Millar to pray for me as I was very sad that I cannot see Uncle John again until I see him in heaven. Bishop Sandy said, "Is that what John wants, to be with the Lord in Heaven!"

Looking forward to seeing you in Heaven, Uncle John!

Dear Lord Jesus,
I give thanks to you for Uncle John's life and for all those lives you touched through him. Help me to follow his example to be your humble and faithful servant and that I can help those you prepare for me to help.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
