Bible Study

This chapter describes the awful destruction that soon would come on Jerusalem. Jeremiah had been faithful to warn them to change but the Israelites did not listen. they had strayed from God and his plan to pursue a lifestyle of wickedness and idolatry. Their prophets were false prophets preaching a message of false hope and security. They told them there was nothing to fear and everything is OK.

Are you one of those who thinks everything is OK, nothing needs to change?

My Spiritual Journal

What I receive from Jesus is: Teachable and faithful?

What I got from Jesus today seems a follow-up from yesterday's 'catch". I got mainly two passages from these two key words.

Yesterday I got these two key words as the opposite from Jeremiah 5: 23,
"But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts."

What I got from Jesus yesterday is that the opposite of 'stubborn' is 'teachable' and the opposite of 'rebellious' is 'faithful'.

Today I have:
1. "Take warning, O Jerusalem, or I will turn away from you and make your land desolate so no one can live in it." Jeremiah 6: 8
Take warning has the same meaning of teachable. Because we are never or rarely teachable we will suffer from our being not teachable severely!

2. "They are all hardened rebels, going about to slander." Jeremiah 6: 28
Those rebels like to slander and that's what is happening all around us! To be faithful is to be able to appreciate others contribution and to build up other not pulling all the good works down by bad-mouthing!

On the last eight minutes of Pentecost Sunday, may we ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and to pour down his fresh anointing on us.

Dear Holy Spirit,
Fill us and pour down your fresh anointing on us that we can be teachable and faithful. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
