Bible Study

This chapter gives us wisdom of how to leave Babylon. The exodus from Babylon, like the exodus from Egypt 900 years earlier, represented a rescue from the corrupt world and all that is spiritually unclean. As I have mentioned quite a few times in the past two weeks, Babylon doesn't only mean the Babylon 2,500 years ago. It also represent the Babylon lifestyle since then until now to the end of the world as describes by Revelation. The corrupt lifestyle in excessive luxuries and all kinds of ungodly and immoral lifestyle. The opposite of a lifestyle of Babylon is a lifestyle of Christlikeness.

The key to leave Babylon is the Messiah. Verse 12 shows us the only way to exodus from the filthy worldly lifestyle to a lifestyle of Christlikeness is that we have Jesus to go before us and to guard at our back. It's like a convoy to have heavy armour tanks in front and after. Without that I do not think any body can leave Satan's lordship.

Right after verse 12 Isaiah gives us the 4th and the last Servant's song, from Isaiah 52: 13 to 53: 12. Isaiah wants to show us who Messiah is when He comes and what kind of lifestyle we will be changed into.

We'll look into this last Servant's song tomorrow and today we need to think of how can we leave Babylon and help other people to leave Babylon.

Do you think you are still being lorded by the Babylonian way of living? I have been for so many years until three years ago when I started to write this blog and more and more closer to Jesus. Can you imagine that? I was ordained as a deacon in 1987 and a priest in 1988 and I have been living in a lifestyle of Babylon until three years ago! Lots of time even we left Babylon but some how because of our human weakness we are being drawn back to Babylon to those places of darkness! There are lots of people still being captured in Babylon and the Lord calls us and anoints us to help them to leave Babylon with Jesus escorting.

Are you willing to leave and/or to help others to leave Babylon?

My Spiritual Journal

What I receive from Jesus is: How to leave Babylon?

What I just got from our Lord Jesus Christ is His first invitation to all people:
"Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is near!" Matthew 4: 17

Repent means exactly leaving Babylon and return to His glorious Kingdom under Jesus Christ lordship. To repent we need to confess our sins and ask our Lord Jesus Christ to pour down His blood to cleanse our sins and accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord of life to lead us out of our "Egypt" and "Babylon". It is only with his going before and guarding our rear that we have a chance to get away!

Do you have Jesus to go before you and guard you rear each day so that you are in His Kingdom and be able to help others to leave their Babylon?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to willing to have you go before us and guard our rear leaving Babylon and help others to leave Babylon. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
