Bible Study

This is a horrible, filthy and difficult chapter to read. Israel and Judah are pictured as two sister who committed spiritual adultery because they have engaged in "prostitution" with other nations. Prostitution represents Israel's and Judah's making alliances with ungodly nations instead of trusting in God alone as their source of strength and protection.

Israel entered into alliances first with Assyria (2Kings 15: 19-29) and then with Egypt (2 Kings 17: 3-6). The evil action led them began imitating and conforming to the ungodly practices and idol worship of those nations. Later, the younger "sister" Judah did the same thing (2 Kings 24:1, Isaiah 7: 1-25;30-31).

What do you think would be the similar sins we have already committed?

What I got from Jesus today is: Why you do this to me?

What I heard from Jesus today is this horrible statement usually yelled out melancholy from a wife to a husband or a husband to a wife when she or he find out the spouse has another love one.

Do you think Jesus would say this to you when you are addict to something just like "prostitution" that He can not be your husband(a relationship as describe in the Bible)?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to be loyal to you and to follow you each day to be our Lord and Savior. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
