Bible Study

Last chapter talks about four nations who were sooner to be judged and destroyed by God because of their hostility to God's people, the Jews. This chapter talks about the 5th nation. Tyre, the capital of Phoenicia, was located 60 miles northwest of Nazareth on the Mediterranean coast. Part of the city was an island and part was coastland at the foot of the Lebanon Mountains. Tyre celebrated Jerusalem's destruction because it believed it would benefit financially from trade advantages that Judah was out of the picture. Tyre's desire for wealth, without thinking of other nations and God's people, brought God's judgment (Isaiah 23). The city eventually later came under the control of "many nations" (v. 3), by the Babylonians, Persians and then the Greeks.

So, if being wealthy is your life goal, may be you can learn something and be able to change after reading this chapter and listening to what Jesus wants to tell you!

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: Wealthiest, so what!

Today's Jesus gives us a warning of what are we seeking for. If to be wealthy is your goal or one of your major goals, then you need to re-think and pray hard now before it's too late!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to know and experience that you are our Good Shepherd and in you we have no want. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
