Bible Study

"Because you said, "The Nile is mine; I made it," therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border of Cush.
Ezekiel 29: 9

Ezekiel gives seven prophecies of judgment against Egypt from chapter 29 to 32. Egypt was a big nation and a power leading people to worship many gods and arrogantly boasted about its strength.

Verse 1-16 and verse 17-21 has a gap of almost 17 years, that's a long time!
The first prophecy is the judgment would come because of their pride, thinking that even the Nile belonged to them!

The second one starting from verse 17 of 16 years and 3 months later had the name of the person who would crushed Egypt to be "the lowliest of kingdoms" (v.15) and that is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Babylon attacked Egypt in 572 and 568 B.C.

What have you got from this chapter? Don't fall into the same path of the Egyptians!

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: Nothing is yours!

I am so thankful that the Lord give me today's message on my birthday!
Yes, nothing belongs to us and yet we have tried all our best in the limited span of our lives to get so many things! But, the truth is, nothing is ours!

See how each time when Ezekiel finished a message and the last sentence is always:
Then they know that I am the Lord.

I do not know how old you are, but today Jesus reminds you of all those things already happened in your life. Some good, some bad, and the most important thing is that from all those experiences you have been through, do you know that Jesus is Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for leading us giving us opportunities to know that you are the Lord. Help us change from pride to humble, from arrogant to kindness, from self-centred to Christlike. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
