Today’s Reading: John 21
(Please read John 21: 1 – 25 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog.)

“Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.” John 21: 4
How could that be? After three years with Jesus and His two appearances to His disciples, they still didn’t realize it was Jesus! They still wanted to quit!
Jesus asked me this morning, “Are you going to do that to me too?” Wow! The Holy Spirit helped me to pull out all the files in my memory of how I didn’t realize it was Jesus and how many times I wanted to quit.
Tonight I am going to be consecrate as a bishop and it happens that my daily devotion is John 21. A warning to how I must focus on Jesus daily that I won’t make the same mistake as the disciples in not being able to realize it is Jesus. Another warning that as a human being, I might always think of quitting, for the spiritual warfare is not easy to fight.
With the three questions Jesus asked Peter whether he loved him, Jesus also asked me this morning of how much I love him. How am I going to feed His lambs, take care of His sheep and feed His sheep when I become a bishop.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I realize that I am weak. Help me to be strong in you that I can have your gifts and annointing to see you and that I will never quit but to love you and your lambs and sheep. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Yes, when Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love me more than these?", he is also asking me, "Do you love me more than these? Deeper than our successes? Deeper than our failures? Our pleasures, even our deepest pain and fears?"
