Today's Reading: 2 Chronicles 26

Please read 2 Chronicles 26 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method: Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. Please click the links below to 2 Chronicles 26:

He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.
2 Chronicles 26: 5

But after Uzziah became powerful, his price led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 2 Chronicles 26: 16

What I received from Jesus today is: Your pride leads to your downfall!

It's impossible for the downfall of king Uzziah! Impossible!

He had a good coach Zechariah the prophet. He used to be "teachable", "worship God" and "attracting other people because of his success." Three of the four lifestyle characteristics that a Godly man has, just as I wrote in today's Discipler123 blog of Acts 2. You need to click the link above to read that.

But because of his pride he took the position of a priest and got leprosy until he died and disappeared from the Bible!

You know every Anglican ordination uses Isaiah 6: 1- 8. You know why Isaiah got his call?

"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne..." Isaiah 6: 1

King Uzziah was everybody's idol as was Isaiah. And when Isaiah saw King Uzziah could die like that he got a "call" and then a "transformation" himself to say to the Lord, "Here am I. Send me!"

Every time I think of this passage in my ordination early in 1987 I remind myself do not step into that "mine field" as King Uzziah did: PRIDE!

Our pride leads to our downfall!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us do not fall into the trap of pride. Help us Lord! In Jesus name we pray . Amen.

  1. It's so easy to fall into the trap of "pride" and "self-centerness". I have to come to Jesus daily to repent and wait for the Holy Spirit to fill me. Amen.

  2. Yes Lucy, lots of time we can not aware our "self-righteousness" turns to "pride" and then "self-centerness." I myself often step into this kind of "mine-field" and blow myself and others off with broken hands and feet, ha, ha! Not a easy thing to deal with or we as human being are not able to deal with. Only if we allow the Holy Spirit to reveal our sins, repent, forgiven and fill by the Holy Sprit again. It's now 5:02a.m. in London and I woke up at 4:30a.m. to do my two blogs and podcast.
