Please click the links below to 2 Chronicles 27:

Jotham did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done, but unlike him he did not enter the temple of the Lord.
2 Chronicles 27: 2

Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God.
2 Chronicles 27: 6

What I received from Jesus today is: Follow your father's good and away from his bad!

If you read this chapter careful you'll find out this is a short and wonderful chapter:
1. Follow your father's good deed
It shows how he was willing to follow his fathers good deeds in spite of seeing his father's terrible downfall. Usually, in this situation, a son would not remember all his father's good deeds but see everything his father did was bad. That's why there are so many sons not willing to learn from their fathers for what they see in their eyes are those bad things. How is(was) your father doing? Is there something you can learn from him. In two weeks time will be Father's Day, how do you show your appreciation and love using this day?

2. Learn from your mother's faithfulness
It must be his mother's effort to teach his son to learn from the good deeds of his father. Why? This chapter shows she was the daughter of Zadok. It could not be Zadok the High Priest in King David's time but she should be the descendant of this famous, gifted and powerful Zadok the priest. A good priestly family should bring good things to their descendant. Just like Pastor Rick Warren is the fourth generation of a Baptist pastor. Watch out how you live your life because your influence could be to a few generations!

3. Cut the "soul-tie" from your parent family's sins
King Jotham did every good thing his father did but not that foolish thing his father did to take the role of a priest that caused his downfall. Do you have the ability to learn from other's mistakes especially your parent's mistakes? According to Exodus 20: 5 sins of the fathers could be to the third and fourth generation. What does that means? That means there is a kind of "soul-tie" with us to our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers... If they are angry men then most probably you are an angry man or woman. If they cannot pull themselves from greed then you are most probably a greedy man or woman. You need to know this, repent and ask the blood of Jesus to cleanse and the Holy Spirit to cut the "soul-tie". Do it now before it is too late. Say this prayer now:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I repent of all the sins my parent's family bring into my soul. Pour down your blood on me to cleanse of all those sins. Come Holy Spirit, cut the soul-tie in me from all of them from my first generation that is my parent, my second generation, my third generation, my fourth generation and onward that I will be free from their sins and bad influence. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

4. Doing good and being a good man is not enough
King Jotham could do good and be a good man. So as many people think they can do good and be a good man but do not need to be a Christian. But, being with God, doing God's command and leading others to God and doing God's command is the most important thing!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to follow you and do your command. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
