1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b]
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6 Increase the days of the king’s life,
his years for many generations.
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day. Psalms 61

What I received from Jesus today is: The opposite of Psalm 61

Jesus reminded me of Psalms 61 when I was reading this chapter. David was in the similar or even more dangerous situation than Job. But, when he counted his blessings of how he experienced God as his refuge and his strong tower he got his faith back and ready to face the unknown future knowing that the Lord would bless him forever.

Here, Job did not have that kind of turning point when he counted his blessings in the past. He looked at the present sufferings rather then looking up to the Almighty God like David.

Which pattern do you want to follow?

Well, now our Lord Jesus Christ reminds me of Hebrews 12: 1 -2 for your inspiration and encouragement:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-2

The only way to get rid of being covered by darkness, bitterness and discouragement is to turn your eyes to Jesus and let Him pull you out. No one can!

Dear Lord Jesus,
When we are in troubles and darkness, help us to turn our eyes to you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

**Thanks for your birthday greetings and prayers! Thanks for your wonderful cake Grace!
