If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method: Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf. Please click the links below to 1 Chronicles 22:

David said, "My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it." So David made extensive preparations before his death.
1 Chronicles 22: 4

What I got from the Lord today is: Prepare for your children to honor God.

David knew that God did not want him to build the Temple so he tried all his best to prepare resources for his son Solomon. What have you prepared for your children to honor God? How do you prepare that?

Our elder son Igantius and I had a powerful experience in this year's Exponential Conference. There are so many highlights and one of those many powerful experiences was when Rev. Francis Chan knelt on the platform to call all the participants to repent and let God be God. Then I saw Igntius knelt on the floor to pray and repent I was so thankful to the Lord for giving us a son who is a faithful disciple of Jesus. I will try all my best to prepare for him just like David prepared for his son.

And I am still having a weekly session with our younger son Athanasius and his best friend Vance to teach them daily devotion and to have daily devotion with them. This months marks two years and four months. For the past two years and four months I have been trying my best to lead Athan and Vance to establish a daily personal intimate relationship with Jesus. They know how to listen to Jesus and write down what they hear from Jesus every time we meet. But, they still can not have "daily" devotion even for the past two years and four months. I was about to quit a year ago and Vance said, "Uncle Silas, we are just teens, you need to have more patience with us." Yes, no matter you are teaching teens, young people, adults or seniors to have a real daily devotion it is never easy. But, it is our duty to do so especially for our children!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to prepare for our children to honor you and know how to do that. In Jesus name we pray . Amen.
