At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, "Because you relied on the king of Syria, and did not rely on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped you. 8Were not the Ethiopians and the Libyans a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied on the LORD, he gave them into your hand. 9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars." 10Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.
What I received from Jesus today is: You got to rely totally on the Lord.
Asa was a good king before he lost his faith on God. Then everything collapsed! How sad!
How could he angry with the seer and put him in prison? And he also brutally oppressed some of the people. How could that happen? Yes, this kind of things always happen when someone leaves God. The insecurity, fear, pride, anger lead lots of people to a road of no return. He got a chance to return but instead to listen to God's prophets warning and advice he acted on his own pride and fear. What a waste!
You got to rely on the Lord!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to rely totally on you. In Jesus name we pray . Amen.
I couldn't do that two days ago on Sunday because I had been working from 8a.m. to 1a.m. , 17 hours strict last Sunday because of our 15th Anniversary Concert at Chan's Centre. Yesterday I couldn't do it because I was working 13 hours strict with AGM at night and going to the airport to pick up Rev. Dr. Terry Walling and went home at mid-night.
