Today's Reading: Isaiah 64

No one prays to you
or makes the effort to reach out to you
Because you've turned away from us,
left us to stew in our sins.
Isaiah 64: 7(The Message)

Bible Study

Isaiah pleads with God to "tear open" the heavens and come down to them in a powerful and unmistakable way. Verse 1 to 5 is very similar to Jesus Lord's prayer as in "Your Kingdom come" of how Jesus teaches His disciples to pray.

The key to God coming back to His people as shown in this chapter in not only that they recognize that God is the potter and they are the clay. The key is that they do not pray at all and they are so far from God! We reach out to so many things but rarely or never reach out to God! According to statistic, the less Christians attend activity in their own church is weekly prayer meeting, or most churches do not have a weekly prayer meeting. When Christians do not pray, everything change! When Christians pray, everything change too! That change is not the same as this change!

What kind of change do you want? How can you turn back from reaching other things to praying to God?

My Spiritual Journal

What I receive from Jesus is: Come back to me!

What I heard from Jesus is a very short, simple but powerful invitation:
Come back to me!

What Jesus wants is not how we do this and that for Him. He just wants to be with us and that we know how to pray and cherish our opportunity to pray.

Without prayer, nothing happen!
With prayers, everything happen!

Jesus saying this to you now, "Come back to me!"

Dear Lord Jesus,
Teach us to pray and that we really can be as close as we can to you to pray, listen and obey to what you say to us each day. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
