Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week then prayerfully remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

Isaiah prophesied the fall of Jerusalem in various stages:
1. Woe to you, Ariel (vv. 1-4): Ariel means lion of God and is a symbolic name for Jerusalem. Although people in Jerusalem continued their festivals as usual thinking that they were OK, God would bring destruction on them because of their sin.
2. Missed the opportunities (vv. 5-8): Isaiah's description was about God's protection from Assyria during Sennacherib's invasion. But, even this miracle did not cause the people to give up their rebellious ways and returned to God. They missed a golden opportunity! Because of this, God would send a more severe judgement during the Babylonian invasion.
3. Hearts are far from God (vv. 9- 16): Even though people in Jerusalem prayed, worshiped and sang praises to God, their hearts were not fully devoted to God or his commands. Instead of truly following God, the people filled their lives with religious rituals and traditions, which gave them a false security and they just did whatever they wanted. Jesus used verse 13 in Matthew 15: 9. Paul used verse 14 in 1 Cor. 1: 19 and verse 15 in Romans 9: 19-21.
4. A fertile field: Isaiah's prophecies of judgment always include a message of hope because one of his main themes is Israel's restoration. These verses envision the last days of this age when the humble and needy of Israel will turn to God (vv. 18-19) and the wicked will be destroyed (vv. 20-21).

"These people come near to me with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men."

Isaiah 29: 13

My Spiritual Journal

What I received from Jesus today is: Their hearts are far from me!

To read the prophecy of this chapter is really scaring. God did give Judah many opportunities but they just did not want to listen and in fact they did not care! I have seen to much of this kind of examples and I have also seen how God increased the weigh of His hand to bring more destruction so that those stiff-neck would have a better chance to change. How sad! Return before it is too late!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to step in the sins of those Israelites and that our hearts can be close to you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
