Bible Study

In this chapter, Isaiah prophesied on the destruction of all nations in God's time. It emphasize God's wrath and vengeance against all sin and rebellion. It also pointing to the most severe known as the Great Tribulation. (Matthew 24: 15-29, Revelation 6: 12-17). Also, Isaiah prophesied on God's destructive jedgment on the Edomites as enemies of God and His people. (2 Samuel 8: 13-14, Psalm 137: 7, Lamentations 4:21).

For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of retribution, to uphold Zion's cause.
Isaiah 34: 8

My Spiritual Journal

What I received from Jesus today is: Don't Be A Judge! 不要做判官!

How many movies captures the darkness of how human beings want vengeance by killing lots of people? Gladiator, Braveheart, The Godfather, Infernal Affairs.

How many times have we seen in human history of such kind of vengeance by killing lots of people? The Roman Empire, Hitler and many dictators!

But, have you thought of God has a day of vengeance and a year of retribution?

Sometimes we angry at some people or even hate some people because they do some bad things on you. And, we use our own way to judge them. We become a judge! Forgive them, because God is the only judge! He has His own way to uphold you just as He uphold the Israelites even though their hearts are far from Him!

Vengeance, retribution and judgment do not belong to you! God has His own way! Trust in Him, totally! Do not be a judge! It's so painful to be a judge judging all the people everyday and yet do not know that someday God will judge you for doing that!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to be capture by anger, hatred, vengeance that we become a judge. Soften our hearts that we can forgive and forget and let you be the judge trusting that you have you own way to deal with bad people. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
