DAY 1189 - Tithing And Offerings Is The Key!

Praise the Lord! In two days time I am going to complete my first blog, this Devotion on Fire blog. I have been writing a Bible study and my spiritual journal one chapter a day for the past 1,189 days. There are 1,189 chapters in the Bible. There was one day I made a pause because I wanted to encourage more people to join the 24 hours prayer campaign to pray for my ministry. So, this Devotion on Fire blog will be completed in 1,190 days and that is tomorrow!
After a few months of prayers and fasting I have decided to write a new blog: Devotion on Fire 2
This will be a blog helping you to have a deeper daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus and to be able to memorize one golden verse everyday. Those words in the Bible are real spiritual bullet, an effective way to beat Satan. And, if you follow this new blog you will be able to finish reading the whole Bible in two years time. Not like this one, three years and three months. One year New Testament and one year Old Testament.
I am going to start Countdown 9 right after the completion of this blog and that is this Thursday Nov. 22, 2012. Day 1 will begin after the nine countdown on Dec. 1, 2012. I use my most nine beloved golden verses that I can memorize anytime for so many years as a start.

The easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week. What you need to do is very simple. Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week to pray for me, my family and my ministry, remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. This campaign is also to teach you that you need somebody to pray for you daily. I have been prayed for hourly the past 1,100 days and I have never experienced this kind of peace and protection before. It's just beyond words can express. If I did not listen and obey to Jesus call 1,100 days ago to start this prayer movement, I think I would be pulled into darkness and discouragement already! I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

Chapter 3 consists of part of the fourth oracle(2:17-3:6), the fifth(3:7-12) and the sixth, the last one(3: 13-18).

This chapter starts with Malachi's prophecy that the Messiah they were waiting for would certainly come.  Before that, God would send a messenger to prepare the way.  Malachi then challenged the Jewish community to repent and return to following the Lord. The people were robbing God by failing to bring him their tithes(one-tenth of their income). God's law required tithing (Lev. 27:30) as a means of honoring God and providing for those who served in ministry.  If they changed their attitude, admitted their sin, turn from their own way and return to following God, then God would restore his blessing to the people. The final oracle refers to God's "scroll of remembrance" concerning those who remain sincere in their worship of God and bring honor to his name.

 We say that we love God, how do we show our love to God through our tithing and other offerings?

What I got from Jesus today is: Tithing and offerings is the key!


What I received from Jesus today is an invitation to love him not by saying but really loving him. Tithing and offerings is the key. Why?
This is one of my favorite chapter in the whole Bible because many years ago Jesus used this chapter to be one of many sources to teach me and my wife to start tithing. We are being blessed so much after we started our tithing and now we offer much more than tithing. Not because we want to receive more blessings or to get more from Jesus, it's because we believe and experience tithing and offerings is the key to be really in love with Jesus!

 Yes, tithing and other offerings is the key to be really in love with Jesus. I need to say this again! Think, you can spend as much as you can spend to buy a diamond ring to be the engagement ring. Why? Because you love your girlfriend! 

 God commanded his people to have tithing and other offerings is to help them to be able to be deeper and deeper in his love. I can give everything even my life to Michelle, Ignatius, Athanasius, my mom, Ada my sister and Dennis my brother. Why? Because I love them so much! But, our problem as human beings is to love MONEY the most! Tithing and other offering is the only way to free you from the bondage of being a slave of MONEY!

 Then, I need to explain what is tithing. It's so simple, like if your monthly pay check is $5,000 then your tithing is $500 monthly. Less than $500 monthly you are robbing God's money! 11 months ago in order to respond to the need of our home church, Richmond Emmanuel Church, Michelle and I decided to give much more than tithing. Because we don't earn much, Michelle has been worrying about money the past at least 10 years. But, the past 11 months is the time Michelle stops to worry about money. We offer more money, but we worry about money less! That's how God's love works, he works things upside down and inside out. Believe it or not!

 Tithing and offerings is the key! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to tithe and have faith to offer more than tithing showing that we not only say we love you but we really love you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
