By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

Exodus 13: 21

If we are OK to have a total obedience like Moses and his people, then God is OK to lead us as He led Moses and his people. Wow, a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. But, the question is: are we OK?

I have been waiting for a suitable time to share with you Lucy's testimony and now is the time. It seems to be not a big "OK" as Moses, but it is total obedience to the call to have daily devotion and God's wonderful blessings after a simple OK:

It is all about relationships...

Non believer...dedicated Christian...church goer...crazy lover!

I received Christ about 12 years ago, from an extreme non believer to a dedicated Christian.

As time went by, my focus shifted away from God. My relationship with HIM has been diminished. I became a church goer. My life was dark and dry. I was self-centered, everything was “me”, my egos, my wishes, my problems, my responsibilities.

But there is a way and there is a spark…it all happened about 13 months ago at my house group. It began with one question asked by Bishop Silas, "When did you last hear God speaking to you?" I was speechless! It has been so long that I could not even recalled! How sad? I was so busy with my life that I could no longer hear Him?!

From that day onward, I have decided to rebuild my relationship with God. I started my daily devotion! My quiet time with HIM. Praise the Lord, I fell in love with Him again. The intimacy & sweetness is indescribable & beyond imaginable. HE is my heavenly father, my best friend & lover! It is not easy being a working mom with two kids. Work, kids, school work, chores... can easily drain me out. Life could be miserable, stressful & purposeless. But in HIM alone, I can be refreshed & refueled. HE gives me the STRENGTH TO LOVE. The more I love Him, the more I grow to love my family, my friends & colleagues. The more I love Him, the more I am willing to give.

The quality of my relationship to God determines the quality of every other relationship I have! When I'm close to Him, it's easy to be close to others. When I'm disconnected to Him, I'm disconnected to others. I could have never experienced this wonderful relationship with God if Bishop Silas has not encouraged me for doing my daily devotion. Everyday I long to be with HIM, to love & to be loved.

In HIM,

Lucy

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to say "Yes Sir" to you whenever you give me your command that I can experience the pillar of cloud and fire. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Michelle had a sudden drop of all her readings and had to receive two bags of blood today. But, don't worry, the nurse said the faster the readings drop, the faster the readings will go up, so this is a good sign. Your prayers are working! Praise the Lord! Please keep praying! Thanks!!!

My son, Ignatius, is in Ethiopia for a three weeks mission. He has been accepted by Regent College to start his Master of Divinity degree program this coming September. Please click this link to read his wonderful sharing: http://21ethiopiandays.wordpress.com/

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus.
There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.
2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day. I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.
3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a discipler. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online discipler to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!
