The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. Exodus 33: 11
Many people have been wondering how Joshua could become such a powerful leader later to do the thing which even Moses could not do by leading the Israelites into the Promise Land. You can find the answer today in this chapter:
1. Joshua followed his mentor Moses as closely as he could, especially when Moses was meeting with God.
2. He learned from Moses to stay as long as he could in the meeting place where God stayed.
Many Christians cannot grow up to be faithful, gifted and powerful disciples of Christ because:
1. They do not know how to locate the mentor(s) which God prepares for them. And even when they have a mentor or mentors, they are not willing to follow them well like Joshua did.
2. They do not want to spend more time with God daily; instead they spend time with other "gods" daily leading them to fruitless lives.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to enjoy having more time with you daily and to have more time with my mentors as much as I can . In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I was moved by The Lord's response to Moses' request to send someone with him as he led the people of Israel: I will go with you!! ("My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." )
ReplyDeleteIt reminded me of Jesus' words in the Great Commission in Matt 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, ..... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Lord, You have said, 'I know you by name and you have found favor with me.' 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you."
