Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week then prayerfully remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

This chapter starts a new section in the book of Isaiah and is from chapter 40 to 66. These chapters were written during the later years of Isaiah's life and applied to a more distant time. They offer hope and comfort to God's people during their captivity in Babylon 150 years after Isaiah's time. Also, they are filled with prophetic revelation about the coming Messiah.

The synoptic gospel(Mark, Matthew and Luke) quotes verse 3 to 5 as to prophesies the coming of John the Baptist as the pioneer of the Messiah: Matthew quotes verse 3 in Matthew 3:3, Mark 2: 2-3, Luke quotes verses 3-5 in Luke 3:4-6. Peter quotes verses 6-8 in 1 Peter 1: 24-25 to let people to know the living eternal word of God as compare to the limited human beings.

This chapter gives people reassurance that God is in total control of human history. No king, prince or anyone can compare with God. What God's people need to do is just to wait upon the Lord and they "will soar on wings like eagles".

My Spiritual Journal

What I received from Jesus today is: You can fly!

Yes, this is what I got from Jesus today. In the midst of all the limitation of we as human beings, if we know how to wait upon the Lord then we can fly like eagles in God's time. Actually I had a feeling that I was like flying up like eagles yesterday when the Lord released me of my fear! It just happened to me yesterday!

This is one of my four most important chapters in the Bible. The other three are Psalm 23, Psalm 121 and Roman 12. The first time for God to use this chapter was in 1982 when I watched the movie "Chariots of Fire" five times in a month and God spoke to me to confirm my call to become a priest.

Let me share with you how this movie uses Isaiah 40 to inspire people of who God is(This movie got the best movie in Oscar that year, 1982):

Eric Liddell Reads Isaiah 40: 15, 17, 23, 28-29, 31(King James Version)

15Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance:
17All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
23That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

If you know how to wait upon the Lord, you do not need to fear all kinds of troubles because in God's time, you can fly like eagles!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know how to wait upon you and lead us to experience that flying like eagles. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
