As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “I tell you the truth,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Luke 21: 1- 4
Have you ever thought of why Jesus spent time sitting in the temple watching people put in their offerings? He didn’t praise the rich men for putting their offerings, for they offered out of their wealth. He praised the widow, for she offered out of her poverty.
Have you ever thought that every time you put in or do not put in your offering, Jesus is watching you? Does that change your attitude and heart regarding your offering?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for offering your life to save me. Help me to offer what I have so that your Kingdom will be extended. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
