When Barnabas found Saul, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. Acts 11: 26

The Lord Jesus leads me to think of a new paradigm through reading this chapter today. Before today, I see Antioch as a teaching centre to train Christians. Yes, indeed Antioch is a teaching centre to prepare Christians to be Christians. But Antioch is a place the Lord prepared for Saul to be an apprentice to learn under Barnabas. It’s a place for Barnabas to raise up his apprentice. And a place for both of them to release their gifts so that many could be trained. Most of all, it is “relational” and “missional”!

There are so many “churchians” and not as many “Christians”, for there is only teaching and learning but not relational building and missional living. May we learn from Barnabas to have our Antioch, and to raise up apprentices for at least a whole year’s commitment.

Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to see who are those people that you prepare for me to raise up, following Barnabas' good example. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We are going to have another phase of 100 days of prayer tomorrow. I am calling you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ to fill in your names in the new list below. Many wonderful things have happened in the past 100 days. Can we follow our King, our Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ to use an hour’s time to pray for His protection and blessings to my new ministry as the Bishop of ACiC/AI, all our ACiC/AI clergy, leaders and people? Pray that in the Holy and Mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we can win over Satan's tricks, in order to strengthen our brothers and sisters so that His Kingdom will be extended. Please click this new link to participate in our 2nd phase 100 days/24 hours Prayer Campaign (Nov 29, 2009 to March 8, 2010)
