Jesus said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight. ” Luke 16:15

What are those things highly valued by you? Is it possible that some of those or all of those are detestable by God? How do you know?

When I asked these two questions after reading this passage, Jesus told me that the answer is in verse 13. If God is really your Lord, then you will serve Him and there won’t be anything in your life that you value so much would be detestable by God. Only if you do not have a true relationship with Jesus as your Savior and Lord of life, then you will get into big trouble.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to reveal my life to be sure that you are my Lord of life and that I have nothing in my life so valued that is detestable by you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
