Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 1 Corinthians 12: 1

Jesus leads me to feel His sadness regarding how we mess up His Body! We mess up His Body because we are ignorant about spiritual gifts. It is either that we don’t understand those gifts or that we want to single out our gifts just like the church in Corinth did.

Lots of times I feel the fear and rejection of those who do not acknowledge that those gifts are real like the gift of wisdom, gift of knowledge, gift of faith, gift of healing, gift of miraculous powers, gift of prophecy, gift of discernment, gift of tongues and gift of interpretation of tongues.

Other times I feel the pride of those who have various gifts treating other people like second class Christians.

Jesus shows me how Paul understands His heart by saying,

But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 1 Corinthians 12: 24-15

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to understand the spiritual gifts and know how to use them to build up your body. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
