If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love…When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 1 Corinthians 13: 1, 11
Jesus led me to envision a scene of when Paul wrote 1 Corinthians. It’s like when some people call a doctor to see what happened to their child. The doctor, who was Paul, came and diagnosed the name of the virus called “Pride”. The name of the cure is called “Love”.
Pride is the number one 'disease' in the whole world. When I search for the meaning of pride, the best meaning I can find is this: pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interfers with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. Pride has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
Pride was the problem of the Christians in Corinthians and for many others. Jesus showed me the pain in Paul’s face as he cried out, “I know you have the gifts of tongues, prophecy, wisdom, knowledge, faith and many more. So what! I don’t see that in your lifestyle and character. I can’t see your patience and kindness. Instead I see other things: envy, boasting, pride, rudeness, self-seeking, easily angered, keeping a record of wrongs, delighting in evil. Do you want to hear more? How can you still act so childish? Come on, it's time to grow up!”
Do you know Jesus may be speaking to you too?!
