Bible Study

Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may return;

renew our days as of old

unless you have utterly rejected us

and are angry with us beyond measure.

Lamentations 5: 21-22

The last chapter is an intercessory prayer to God. Jeremiah acknowledges that because of the sins of them and their ancestors God was punishing them. But he trusts that God will eventually respond to their cry, accept their sincere confessing of sin and show mercy to his people.

What I got from Jesus today is: Restore us Lord!

Jesus reminds me of the time in the early years of Window 95 that my computer had lots of problems and I brought the computer to the shop to have a complete "restoration". Cleaning everything there and I had to install every single program. But, after a few months I had to go to the store again to have another restoration!

Our lives should not like computers but still we can have lots of problems and need restoration. Do you think you need restoration from the Lord now?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to know our real situation deep down our souls that we always need restoration and renewal from you. Revive us that we can be pure and clean to do your holy work. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
