Bible Study
After Jeremiah prophecies the last King of Judah, Zedekiah, Jeremiah goes backward to prophesy to the three kings before Zedekiah about God's judgment against them. They are Shallum(vv. 1-12; 2 Kings 23:31; 2 Chronicles 36:1-4), Jehoiakim(vv. 13-23; 2 Chronicles 36:5-8)) and Jehoiachin(vv. 24-30, Jer. 24:1; 29:2).
The message is very clear for every king or everyone including us:
Listen and obey, teachable and faithful - blessing and growing
Do not listen and obey, stubborn and unfaithful - cursing and destroying
Don't wait for God last act trying to save you please!
My Spiritual Journal
What I receive from Jesus is: God last try to save might have to destroy!
I have seen too many cases of people's stubbornness that they got some serious trouble and then they received Jesus as Savior and Lord! But, most of those people would not receive Jesus even on their death bed!
May be you ask, "Why God is so cruel?"
Well, sometimes in order not to let someone to be in eternal death God has to do His last try to save in a painful way! After all that's the call of Jeremiah from God:
Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant." Jeremiah 1: 9-10
Don't wait for God last try to save you please! And if you are teachable and faithful, doing what God is telling you to do, then you need to follow Jeremiah's call to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant!
Please pray for Michelle's best friend! This should be God's last try to save her!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that you love us so much that sometime you have to destroy in order to save. Lead us to follow Jeremiah's good example to do your Kingdom work to build and plant. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
