Please click the links below to Jeremiah 39:

There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles of Judah. Then he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.

Jeremiah 39: 6-7

Bible Study

The siege against Jerusalem lasted about 18 months and the city was cut off from all outside help and supplies. The city's defeat fulfilled Jeremiah's prophecies of God's judgment on those stubborn and unfaithful people of God!

Let's learn from this historical tragedy of the consequence of being stubborn and unfaithful.

On the other hand we can see the fruit of being teachable and faithful of how king Nebuchadnezzar treated Jeremiah and how God blessed and protected Ebed-Melech of rewarding his courageous act to save Jeremiah.

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: the consequence of being stubborn and unfaithful.

How sad it is with a king who did not want to see what God wanted him to see that what he saw was the slaughtering of all his sons and his eyes being put out that he could not see any more!

Can you see what God wants you to see?
The worst thing is you see but you do not respond to God's call and warning!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to see those things you want us to see and that we have the courage to take action and not doing nothing. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
