Bible Study

This chapter tells about the mother and her two sons, a sad story on lioness and young lions.

The lioness, Israel, is described as a fruitful vine that was uprooted and its branches burned. What was left of the vine was planted in a desert, representing they were captured to Babylon.

The first young lion is the young King Jehoahaz(2 Kings 23: 31-34) reigned for just three months. He was taken captive to Egypt and died there. Then another lion should be eith King Jehoiachin or Zedekiah, both of them were taken captive to Babylon (2 Kings 24:8 - 25:7).

That's how the end of Judah, a sad story of those who keeping on sinning.

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: How are your planted?

Jesus shows me two very distinct difference. One being the mother as a vine planted by the water and was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water. The other being planted in the desert, in a dry and thirsty land. Then fire came and spread and consumed its fruit. Everything gone!

What I got from Jesus is a question to you today: How are you planted?
By the water, fruitful because of abundant water.
Or, in the desert, sooner or later a fire would come and nothing left!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to plant by abundant and that is you. Lead us to be with you day by day that we can be fruitful, more fruitful and much fruitful. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
