Bible Study

This chapter sets before us a scene of some elders came to ask Ezekiel about why God did that kind of destruction to their whole nation without mercy.

Ezekiel put before them how God gave the Israelites from the very beginning of Moses time to their time many, many chances. But, every time they got over they sinned again. The Israelites were always so stubborn, rebellious and unfaithful. That's why God would not give any second chance to them because that was not second chance! Ezekiel also told them that they themselves had not yet given up their false gods. In their hearts, they still gave priority to other things over God and so they too were guilty.

That's how the end of Judah, a sad story of those who always want a second chance but have not changed after many second chances!

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: No more second chance!

Recent someone wanted me to pray for him because he is in big troubles. He said, "if God gives me a second chance then I'll go back to church, I'll go back to Him and I'll be obedient. Please pray for me that God will give me a second chance."

For the past 24 years as an ordained priest, I have such kind of requests just like what those elders did to Ezekiel in today's passage or this 'someone' many, may times. Most of them when they got through their crisis they just vaporized! They returned to their previous lifestyle forgetting everything God did to help them.

So, today God wants to tell you that there is a point and you never know that point that you don't have another second chance. It will be a done deal, it's over!

Cherish your second chance, third chance ...1001 chance and be willing to repent, return to Jesus, worship Him as your Lord and King, to be transformed into more and more Christlike, then you will taste the sweetness of your new life in Christ!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to cherish our second chance and be able to change to be more like you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
