Bible Study

Chapter 25 to 32 contains prophecies against seven nations that were hostile to
God and His people. Ezekiel reveals that all nations are ultimately accountable to God and that worldly powers will never destroy God's plan of salvation.

The painful reality is that the first three nations were Israelites' relatives. Ammon and Moab were born to Lot and Lot's younger and elder daughter, respectively, in the aftermath of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 19: 37-38 refers to both the Ammonites and Moabites as the "children of Lot". But, throughout the Bible, the Ammonites and Israelites were always enemies.

Edomites were descendants of Esau, elder son of Isaac and twin brother of Jacob (who was named by God as Israel). As recorded in Genesis 25: 30 "That is why Esau was also called Edom).

So, this is the Biblical and historical background of the first three nations mentioned in this chapter. Philistines did not have any relationship in the bloodline of Israelites as that three nations and was always Israelites enemies. It is a sad story that relatives could fight each others like that for centuries. God allowed that to happen in order to bring Israelites back to Him. So, this is the historical and Biblical background of the first three nations mention in this chapter. (Philistines was always Israelites enemies) It is a sad story that relatives fought each others as enemies for centuries. God allowed those nations to bring destruction to His people was because of Israel's stubborn, rebellious and unfaithful. When those nations thought that they could destroy God's people, in God's time they would be in total destruction.

My Spiritual Journal

What I got from Jesus today is: When God says they die, they die!

Today's Jesus gives us a comforting message. There are times we are under attack, accusation and even elimination by all kinds of people, sometimes relatives and friends like those in this chapter or by sickness like cancer, heart attack, etc.. But, don't worry, what you have to do is only two things:
1. Check your relationship with Jesus so that you won't be in a situation as that in this chapter that God allows those things to happen trying to bring you back to Him.
2. Wait, trust and pray. God is just giving you a challenge to raise you up to a new level to serve Him.

Yes, when God says die, they die, no matter who they are!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to trust you totally that you have total control in everything we can think of and that you love us and want to be with us forever. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
